Applying Scalp Care Safely with Long Nails

Protecting Your Scalp from Scratches

Applying the No02 Flourishing Elixir requires you to work the grapeseed oil directly into the skin of your scalp. However, if you have long natural nails, acrylics, or gel extensions, the traditional "fingertip massage" can quickly turn into uncomfortable scratching. The skin on your scalp is delicate, and scraping it with sharp nails can cause micro-abrasions that lead to irritation.

Adjusting Your Hand Position

To safely apply scalp care with long nails, you must change the angle of your hands.

  1. Use the Finger Pads: Instead of holding your fingers vertically (pointing straight down at your scalp), lay your fingers flat against your head. Use the soft, fleshy pads of your fingers—just below the nail—to press the product into your skin.
  2. The Knuckle Method: If your nails are exceptionally long and even the pads of your fingers risk poking your scalp, make a loose fist. Use the smooth, flat area of your middle knuckles to gently press the No01 Anchoring Mist or No02 Elixir into the part lines.

Dosage Control and Separation

When parting your hair to expose the scalp, do not use the sharp edge of your nail to drag a harsh line across your head. Instead, use a dedicated tail comb to create the part, or use the smooth side of your finger to push the hair aside.

Additionally, avoid "squeezing" or pinching the scalp during the massage. The goal of the No02 application is a gentle, circular pressing motion that allows the oil to settle on the skin's surface without aggressive friction.
