Scalp Care Routine for Daily Wig Wearers

Transitioning to Your Natural Scalp

Wearing a removable wig—whether for style, convenience, or protection—places your natural scalp under a fitted cap for hours. When you remove your wig at the end of the day, your scalp requires attention to recover from the lack of airflow and physical compression. Integrating J.N HERBACEOUS botanical products into this transition requires assessing the state of your skin.

Step 1: Removal and Assessment

After taking off your wig and wig cap, the first step is to check your scalp's condition. Are you dealing with sweat from a hot day? Is there residual wig adhesive or gel along your hairline?

Important Note: Our botanical leave-in products are designed strictly for skin nourishment. The No01 Anchoring Mist and No02 Flourishing Elixir are not formulated to dissolve wig glues, tapes, or heavy styling gels. You must use your dedicated adhesive removers and cleansers to handle those materials.

Step 2: Cleanse if Necessary

If your scalp is sweaty or covered in adhesive residue, you must wash it. Follow the adhesive product’s removal directions first, then use your usual cleanser as appropriate. No04 is a cleansing soap, not an adhesive remover. Once your scalp is completely clean and fully dry, you can apply a small amount of the No02 Flourishing Elixir using your fingertips to restore a comfortable, nourished feel to the skin.

Step 3: The Dry Refresh

If you wear glueless wigs, had a low-sweat day, and your scalp is completely dry upon removal, you might not need a full wash. In this scenario, you can part your natural hair and spray the No01 Anchoring Mist directly onto the exposed scalp. Gently press the aqua-based mist into your skin to provide a grounding botanical scent and a sensory refresh before winding down for the evening.
